According to the official WeChat account of the China Tea Circulation Association, in May 2024, the export volume of Chinese tea was 25800 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 11.86%, and the export value was 102 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 29.85%. As of May 2024, the cumulative export volume of Chinese tea was 144300 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.57%. The cumulative export value was 545 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 22.80%. The average export price from January to May was 3.78 US dollars per kilogram, a decrease of 21.56% compared to the same period last year.

By category, from January to May this year, the export volume of Chinese green tea was 124500 tons, accounting for 86.3% of the total export volume, an increase of 1825 tons, or 1.5%; The export volume of black tea was 9365 tons, accounting for 6.5% of the total export volume, a decrease of 1578 tons, or 14.4%; The export volume of oolong tea was 6568 tons, accounting for 4.6% of the total export volume, a decrease of 2859 tons or 30.3%; The export volume of jasmine tea was 2818 tons, accounting for 2.0% of the total export volume, an increase of 527 tons, or 23%; The export volume of Pu'er tea is 651 tons, accounting for 0.5% of the total export volume, a decrease of 120 tons, a decrease of 15.6%; The export volume of other flower teas is 66 tons, the export volume of black tea is 213 tons, and the export volume of white tea is 134 tons.
